Originating from the Peak District and based around the North West, Jonathan Roberts is a composer and pianist who writes a combination of beautiful yet haunting piano melodies and cinematic soundscapes.

With a background in both classical and popular music, Jonathan creates refined orchestral scores with modern synth sounds and thematic melodies.

Jonathan released his first single TipToes in 2019, which was played on BBC Radio 3 (In Tune with Sean Rafferty). He has recorded and played on records that have been featured on BBC Radio 2 (Bob Harris, Janice Long), LFC TV, Spotify and iTunes.

Jonathan is currently working alongside Society of Losers Records to release new music. His first single, Dark Rain, released in March 2021 and is the beginning of a new evolving sound combining piano, strings and synths into a developing soundscape. His second single, Field 17, was released in July 2021 and received reviews from Obscure Sound in America, York Calling and Tome To The Weather Machine. Jonathan's debut EP, Mountains, was released on 11th November 2021.

Alongside releasing his own music, Jonathan curates a monthly Spotify playlist, N:/5P1R_D. The playlist features 10 tracks from established artists, such as Thomas Newman and  Trent Reznor, to independent artists Jonathan has discovered along the way.
